At ShakeYourTail, our love for pets goes far beyond the software we create. We believe every dog deserves exceptional care, and that starts with dedicated professionals who are always learning, improving, and striving to be the best they can be.
That’s why we’re proud to support the ShakeYourTail Competition Team. Taking part in competitions is about much more than earning awards—it’s an opportunity to refine techniques, gain valuable experience, exchange ideas with others in the industry, and continue raising standards for the benefit of every dog.
We’re excited to introduce the talented individuals who proudly represent ShakeYourTail throughout the competition season and inspire others through their passion, commitment, and determination.

Jenna: From Work Experience to Competition Groomer
Hi, I’m Jenna 🙂
I’m a dog grooming stylist at K9 Cleaners Pet Grooming in Milton Keynes and a proud mum to a cheeky 2.5yr old little boy, Jacob-John.
I discovered my passion for grooming in 2018 while studying Animal Management, and what started as work experience quickly became my calling. I went full-time in 2019 and haven’t looked back.
After returning from maternity leave in 2025, I challenged myself to step into the competition ring. It pushed me far beyond my comfort zone and reminded me that the biggest growth comes from facing your fears – something I hope to show my son every day.
I have a real love for competing with Standard Poodles, but every dog I groom has a special place in my heart. Each has their own unique personality, whether they’re perfectly behaved or determined to leave me covered in fur; I wouldn’t have it any other way.
After all, every dog has its day… mine just usually ends with dog hair in places I didn’t know dog hair could reach! 🐶

Anya: A Rising Star in Competition
My name is Anya Gale, and I’m currently training at K9 Cleaners Pet Grooming, where I’m developing my skills alongside an experienced and supportive team.
My journey into dog grooming began long before I picked up a pair of scissors. I started helping out in the salon when I was just 10 years old, giving me an early insight into the industry and a love for the profession. In May 2025, I began formally learning the art of dog grooming, and since then I’ve been dedicated to building my knowledge, refining my techniques, and gaining as much hands-on experience as possible.
I’ve always had a passion for dogs, and watching my mum build a successful career in the grooming industry inspired me to follow in her footsteps. Her creativity, dedication, and love for the craft motivated me to begin my own grooming journey and develop my skills.
Although I’ve only been competing for less than a year, 2026 has already been an incredible year. I’ve achieved 3rd Place in the Beginner Category at the Welsh Grooming Show, 1st Place in the Junior Class at Supergroom, 1st Place in Salon Stars at Great Scotland Groom, and 2nd Place in the Beginner Category at Cymru Groom.
I’ve also competed at Mastergroom in July, and I have several exciting competitions ahead this year, including Groomania in Belgium this September, where I’ll be representing myself on an international stage; I’m a Groomer Get Me Out of Hair in October, and Groomphoria in November.
One of my proudest competition experiences has been Groomphoria. It’s an international competition with an exceptionally high standard, and I was the youngest competitor in my class. Although I didn’t place, competing against such talented groomers and receiving valuable feedback from the judges was an unforgettable experience. It motivated me to keep improving and gave me a clear direction for my future development.
I’m naturally very competitive and love pushing myself to improve. Competition grooming allows me to continually develop my skills, challenge myself outside my comfort zone, and strive for the highest standard possible. I believe that with dedication, hard work, and the right mindset, you can achieve incredible things.
Alongside my grooming journey, I’m also focused on completing my Canine First Aid qualification and successfully finishing my GCSEs. Building a strong educational foundation while continuing to develop as a groomer is incredibly important to me.
I particularly enjoy grooming wool-coated breeds because I love the preparation, styling, and attention to detail they require. Rather than having one favourite breed, I enjoy getting to know each dog and bringing out the very best in every groom.
Despite being at the beginning of my career, I’m incredibly honoured to have already received nominations for some of the industry’s most prestigious awards. I’ve been nominated for the Liz Paul Achievement Awards in the categories of Beginner Stylist of the Year and the Jigsaw Spirit Award, as well as the Industry High Achievement Awards 2026 in the categories of Born to Groom, Community Star, and Best Beginner Competition Groomer.
These nominations mean a great deal to me and motivate me to continue learning, growing, and representing the next generation of dog groomers with passion, professionalism, and determination.
Looking Ahead
The ShakeYourTail Competition Team is only just getting started. Our goal is to continue growing the team by welcoming passionate groomers who are eager to learn, challenge themselves, and experience the world of competition grooming.

Keep an eye on our social media and website for updates on the team—and who knows, you could be one of our future team members.
